Xenium’s PEO client, Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP), is Oregon’s not-for-profit organization devoted to assisting manufacturing companies grow and prosper.
OMEP’s president Chris Scherer says, “We continue to be committed to guiding companies on their lean enterprise journey but have expanded our view to incorporate issues related to product and process innovation and business model expansion.”

Six Growth Strategies

OMEP’s work with manufacturers throughout Oregon has brought the realization that productivity increases are not enough to produced sustained company growth and stability. We believe that companies must develop skill in the deployment of the six key strategies list below:
– Customer-Focused Innovation
– Engaged People
– Continuous Improvement
– Supply Chain Management and Collaboration
– Green/Sustainability
– Global Engagement

Leadership

The single most important element underlying the success of strategy deployment is the capability of leadership. Traditional command-and-control management approaches are no longer (and may never have been) adequate to meet the constantly shifting demands of the marketplace and certainly do not allow companies to take advantage of the extraordinary innovation that exists in their own workforces.

OMEP Network

OMEP invites all manufacturers and industry partners to join the OMEP Network. Network members will receive regular updates on events and topics of interest to manufacturers and opportunities to interact with peers. OMEP will sponsor public education, seminar events, and networking events throughout the year designed to inform network members on hot issues related to innovation, human resources, process improvement, sales and marketing, financing, supply chain, and others pertinent topics of interest to our community.
