Gina Todd and Molly Kelley presented at a Dress for Success workshop on Monday, September 12th in NE Portland. A group of twelve attendees practiced their handshake and learned interview ins and outs during the 40 minute, “Everything You Need to Know About the Interview” seminar.
There were several “Aha!” moments including a discussion of whether to send electronic or handwritten thank you notes and a review of illegal questions often asked in interviews, and clever ways to respond.
Molly and Gina both loved the experience and are hoping to be invited back again. The experience offered them the opportunity to interact with and support future employees who have worked hard to improve their skill set and overall presentation in the professional working world. Many of the attendees had the opportunity to use their new skills at a job fair the following day, leaving Molly and Gina feeling so grateful to have been a part of their path to success.
Dress For Success’ mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
