Centered around the “3 Pillars for Success”, the Leadership Cohort is designed to equip new and developing people leaders with the essential knowledge, skills, and tools to lead with confidence and competence.

This program is specifically designed for:
- Newly hired or promoted supervisors
- Frontline to mid-level supervisors and managers who have not had participated in much leadership training in the past and are looking to develop skills and practices

Program Modules
Level 1 Cohort
People Leadership Foundations
This program is designed to support new and developing supervisors and managers in building the essential skills needed to lead others effectively. Through a focus on foundational skills, such as inspiring and influencing employees and promoting their growth, development activities equip leaders with practical tools and support to navigate challenges and lead with confidence.

MODULE 1:
Conscious Leadership & Commitment
In this kick-off course, participants will gain an understanding of expectations, accountabilities, and what it takes to be an effective leader, including how their behavior and communication has a impact on organizational results. Participants will have an opportunity to examine their own values and strengths and confirm their commitment and purpose in their leadership role.

MODULE 2:
Self & Interpersonal Effectiveness
In this course, participants will review competencies associated with Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, and Relationship Management and how they relate to leadership and personal effectiveness. Participants will develop greater awareness of varying communication styles, needs, and motivations so they may adapt their approach to develop trust and influence with others.

MODULE 3:
Communication Competency
Communication skills are core to many leadership competencies. In this course, we will discuss the top 5 practices for leadership communication – whether leading in-person or remotely. Participants will practice and apply skills that lend to effective feedback, coaching and collaboration.

MODULE 4:
Building Effective Teams
Participants will have an opportunity to discuss the attributes of a high functioning team, including psychological safety. Participants will learn how to recognize opportunities for team development and objectively identify and select the best people for their team, organization, as well as implement strategies to engage and retain committed and productive employees.

MODULE 5:
Leading the Work Effort
Delivering results through others requires balance and leveraging the capabilities of team members. This course will challenge leaders to implement effective time management habits and practices for planning, prioritizing, and goal setting. Participants will also identify opportunities to apply delegation skills and a process to creating shared expectations for success.

MODULE 6:
Performance Management
In this course, we will cover the importance of setting and managing expectations for desired outcomes. Participants will implement a process for assessing progress and providing regular feedback. And when they recognize a gap in employee performance, leaders will learn how to get to the root of performance problem and work with their employee to develop a plan for improvement.

MODULE 7:
Coaching for Development
This course focuses on coaching application, understanding when coaching is the best approach and leadership behaviors for an effective coaching conversation. Participants will apply a proven coaching process that includes effective questions for insight and action plan development. We will also discuss when it makes sense to shift from coaching to corrective action.

MODULE 8:
Leadership Action Plan
In the final course, participants will create their personal vision and goals for leading in their organization. This includes developing a plan for continued leadership development, including support and resources.

Level 2 Cohort
Elevate Leadership
This program is designed for mid-level leaders who demonstrate competency in the essentials of leading others and are ready to enhance their leadership impact and drive meaningful change within their organizations.
At each leadership transition, new skills and capabilities are needed to achieve organizational results. The shift from supervisor to manager or director requires broader influence, strategic thinking, as well as the development of future leaders.
Prior completion of the People Leadership Foundations cohort is recommended.

MODULE 1:
Developing an Inspiring Vision & Purpose
As their scope of responsibility increases, leaders must be able to think strategically, understanding the broader goals and objectives of the organization and how their departments/teams fit into the overall strategy. This module empowers mid to senior-level leaders to craft and communicate a compelling vision grounded in a clear sense of purpose. Leaders will learn how to align their teams with a shared vision that motivates and connects with organizational values. Leaders will discover how to align their teams around a shared vision that inspires performance, fosters a sense of purpose, and strengthens connection.

MODULE 2:
Disciplines of Execution
Effective leaders prioritize initiatives, strategies, and set goals to align with the organization’s vision. This requires discipline around execution, including systematic method of measuring progress and results and proactively communicating important, relevant messages to the organization through the right channels. This module focuses on translating vision and purpose into actionable strategies and objectives, ensuring that leaders not only inspire but also drive meaningful results.

MODULE 3:
Critical Thinking & Decision Making
This module focuses on developing leaders’ ability to systematically analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information for sound decision-making. Leaders will learn techniques to critically question assumptions, examine evidence, and consider alternative perspectives. Emphasis will be placed on identifying biases, identifying root cause, and formulating relevant strategies to make well-reasoned judgments.

MODULE 4:
Leading Change
Leaders at higher levels are responsible for driving and supporting others in achieving organizational change. They need to be adaptable and resilient in the face of challenges and uncertainties and apply proven change management frameworks to plan, execute, and sustain change initiatives. By understanding what people need to move through change, leaders have an opportunity to foster a culture of trust and open communication, empowering stakeholders to participate in the change process and take ownership of its success.

MODULE 5:
Cross-Functional Relationships & Collaboration
As leaders take on more responsibility for the organization’s success, they need to be especially cognizant of the interdependencies and communication between teams. To prevent silos and inefficiencies, leaders need to develop trusted relationships with their leader peers. A key focus is ensuring alignment around mutual purpose and goals, fostering collaboration across teams, and driving positive results within the organization. Leaders will explore how to ensure their teams are working efficiently and collaboratively, driving toward common objectives while upholding organizational values.

MODULE 6:
Mentoring & Growing Leaders
This module empowers leaders with the skills and tools to effectively mentor and develop future leaders for succession planning and long-term organizational success. Participants will learn strategies for fostering meaningful mentor-mentee relationships, providing guidance tailored to individual strengths, and creating a growth-oriented environment. Modeling leadership behaviors is emphasized, including the importance of offering developmental feedback, and honing coaching skills to help emerging leaders navigate challenges.
