Xenium organizes fun events throughout the year for its employees, and perhaps the most anticipated event is the annual Halloween Costume competition. Xenium shares the Express Plaza office with The Stoller Group, and each Halloween the companies have a friendly costume contest. Impartial judges are recruited from the Target offices downstairs, and the entire office is transformed for the day.
Xenium has only lost once in the history of this rivalry, and we were determined to keep our bragging rights this year. Settling on the theme of “Viva Las Vegas”, we decorated our cubicles as casinos and little white chapels.
On the morning of the 29th, we scouted out the competition. The Stoller Group had chosen a jungle theme, complete with a 4 ft. stuffed lion, and they seemed determined to give us a run for our money this year.
We crossed our fingers as the judges walked beneath our Welcome to Vegas sign. The payroll department sparkled as showgirls in their dressing rooms, and HR won over the judges as card dealers and Vegas tourists. We even had two blushing brides!
The judges declared Xenium the winner after a potluck lunch and we snapped a victory photo of the team. We were a bit sad to take off the glitter and put the cards away, but now we get to start planning the theme for next year! Superheroes, anyone?
