Although for many this time of year brings with it Fall favorites like apple cider and Halloween candy, for those of us in the human resources world it brings other changes altogether: the onset of cold and flu season and increases in employees’ use of sick leave or paid time off (PTO) to cope with their illnesses or their children’s illnesses.
