On Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th, Xenium Sponsored the third annual Starve Ups Launch Pad Event at Portland State University.
Launch Pad is a free event for local entrepreneurs organized by Starve Ups. The goal is to provide a community of peer learning and support for how to take an idea and turn it into a thriving business. Panels of local successful entrepreneurs and content experts spoke on topics including: Legal Structure, Board of Directors, Human Resources, Networking, Pitch & Presentation Development, Sales & Business Development, Branding, Marketing & PR, Fundraising and Capital Structure.
Friday’s festivities kicked-off with a group dinner and keynote speech by a well-known entrepreneur in Portland. The keynote speech touched on the experience as an entrepreneur and focused on the importance of having a clear Mission statement from the onset to help guide the decision-making process. Many other insightful nuggets were shared as well.
Saturday was a full day of panelists and small peer group practice sessions. Local CEO’s, Founders, and subject matter experts that participated included Xenium and many other well-known businesses in the local area..
Everyone who participated left feeling invigorated, empowered to keep going and with a vast peer group of others working hard to build a business and ultimately realize their dream.
