Xenium’s Director of Training & Development Suzi Alligood will be speaking at an event as part of the Empowered Northwest Conference on May 8 in Portland, Oregon.
Suzi will speak on what Xenium HR has identified as the most common “employer traps,” based on our experience working with over 300 local employers in varying industries. The topics highlighted will include employee protections & the limits of at-will employment, workplace complaints, and fair labor standards classification.
In the ever-changing regulatory environment, it is important for business owners and managers to stay current on employer compliance requirements. As a business owner, you are held to a higher standard; and if a lawsuit ever gets filed, pleading “ignorance” unfortunately, isn’t going to cut it. By communicating policies & expectations clearly, applying consistent treatment, and dealing with issues head-on with confidence, you have a greater opportunity to protect yourself and your business, garner the respect of your work group, and ultimately enhance the performance of the business.
