Chown Hardware, a Xenium client, is making a difference in the community. In response to the Kyron Hormon case, Chown approached the Portland Public Schools offering a donation. Read the excerpt below:

From the Oregonian:

The surveillance system, which was completed last week with the installation of cameras, was donated by Chown Hardware in Northwest Portland. Fred Chown, a co-owner of the store, approached Portland Public Schools after Kyron disappeared, offering the donation.

“My motivation was not the situation at Skyline as much as the entire district,” Chown said. “I’m a product of Portland Public Schools and my brother and kids are as well.”

He said the district wanted to equip Skyline first, establishing a benchmark for other schools. Chown said the district would like to install surveillance systems in other schools when funds become available.

“They really are trying to do the right solution long term,” Chown said.
