Carrie started her new role as a Payroll Specialist II in the payroll department in May 2021. Her primary responsibilities involve processing payroll for a variety of Xenium clients, including ongoing customer service and account maintenance.
Prior to joining the Xenium payroll team, Carrie held a variety of accounting/bookkeeping and payroll processing positions, most recently working for a fine arts installation company in Los Angeles. She also worked as a senior sales underwriter for an insurance company for 15 years, focusing primarily on group life, disability and dental insurance.
Carrie was born and raised in southern California, although she spent a few years living in Portland in her early 20’s before settling back down in California. This second move to Portland was prompted by her oldest son moving here recently and, after she and her younger son visited, she was convinced that it was time to return for good!
When she isn’t working, Carrie loves spending time with her two sons (22 and 16 years old) who currently live with her. She enjoys music – in particular, going to live concerts. A few bands who Carrie follows are Depeche Mode, Muse, Twenty-One Pilots, Panic! at the Disco and The Cure.
She is also passionate about cooking (especially Italian, Mexican, Indian and Thai), reading books (anything written by Anne Rice, Stephen King or Phillipa Gregory) and watching movies. Some of her all-time favorite movies are Napoleon Dynamite, Interstellar and Shawshank Redemption.
