Sean Cunningham is a Benefits Specialist at Xenium, where he supports clients and employees with benefit administration and helps keep complex processes running smoothly. He joined Xenium as a Payroll and Benefits Coordinator and quickly gravitated toward the benefits side of the business, taking on key responsibilities such as COBRA administration, benefits reconciliation, portability reporting, and process improvements. Over time, Sean became a go-to resource for behind-the-scenes benefits work, especially during open enrollment, which led to his promotion to Benefits Specialist in December 2025.
In his current role, Sean partners closely with senior Benefits Specialists as he builds his own book of business and begins working directly with client employees. He enjoys the research, problem-solving, and teamwork that come with benefits work, and he is motivated by being part of a team that genuinely cares about clients and continuously looks for ways to improve the experience.
Before joining Xenium, Sean worked as a recruiting coordinator at Northwest Staffing after graduating from Washington State University Vancouver with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, concentrating in human resources.
Originally from Portland, Sean lives in Vancouver with his fiancée and their rescue dog, Koda. Outside of work, he is deeply involved in Taekwondo and Judo training and holds a third-degree black belt, with aspirations of earning his fourth-degree master rank. He is currently preparing for upcoming competitions and enjoys cooking, experimenting with new recipes, hiking, gaming, photography, and spending time at home watching movies with his fiancée.
