Mary began her Xenium journey as an Onsite HR Generalist in February 2017 and joined the internal team as an HR Generalist in May 2020. She is currently a Senior HR Generalist. In this role, she supports our clients with employee relations, policy development, compliance questions, leave management, and project deliverables such as handbooks, job descriptions, and HR toolkits. Mary brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Xenium, having worked in higher education, the private sector, and union environments.
Most of her pre-Xenium career was spent working in higher education. She worked at the University of South Carolina (“for the record, the original USC!”) for 10 years and served as the HR Manager for the College of Hospitality, Retail & Sport Management before joining Xenium. Mary graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies, with an emphasis in organizational communication and business, from the University of Montana.
While searching for jobs back in 2017, Mary came across Xenium’s website, and after she watched the culture video, she said, “I REALLY want to work there!”
Montana will always be “home” to Mary. The daughter of a cattle rancher, Mary was born, raised, and attended college in the beautiful state. However, wanderlust and a Southern husband swept her away to the Southeast right after college, where they lived for 17 years. She and her husband have three grown children and they love to travel, listen to live music, and enjoy Portland’s spectacular food scene.
